You may not have to worry about ghouls, ghosts, and other creatures that go bump in the night, but you can still get into the Halloween spirit with plenty of spooky events this month. From haunted houses to cemetery tours, and events for all ages, you’ll find the perfect level of fright to fill your night with these fun halloween events in Atlanta GA!
If you’re looking for family fun with not-so-scary activities geared toward children, head to Boo at the Zoo. On Saturdays and Sundays, from October 17-31, Zoo Atlanta will be hosting a family fun Halloween festival with plenty of children’s activities, including treats, costume contests, an inflatable corn maze and much more.
Another great event for the whole family is the Callandwolde Fine Arts Center’s Halloween festivities. Set over 12 acres, this Halloween spectacular, held on October 30, includes live music, costume contests, trick-or-treating, and LEGOLAND building activities.
For something spooky, yet suitable for all ages, visit historic Oakland Cemetery after dark. The Capturing the Spirit of Oakland Halloween Tours are back! A costumed docent guides you through the cemetery’s beautifully-lit Victorian gardens as you experience the stories of Atlanta’s sons and daughters come to life. The one-hour tours take place from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23 – Sunday, Oct. 25, and Thursday, Oct. 29 – Saturday, Oct. 31.
For 15 years now, the Little Five Points Halloween Festival and Parade has been one of the highlights of the fall season. Beginning at Noon on October 17, until 11 pm, guests will be treated to a daylong festival with live entertainment, great food, artisanal vendors for unique shopping opportunities, along with plenty of other fun and frightful frivolities.
Finally, for the true fright aficionado, there’s only one place to be this Halloween: Netherworld Haunted House! One of the top haunted houses in the country, visitors are treated to frightening live actors, scary monsters, and lots of stunning special effects. Open every night through October, this haunted house experience has been voted among the best by everyone from Hauntworld to The Travel Channel. It is not to be missed!
